'Secrets of a Trainer' - Come Back to the 19th Century With Me, Loseweight...

Hello My Dear Loseweight,

A few days ago I sent you a newsletter addressing the issue of women
working out like the typical man does...

If you didn't read it - go ahead and give it a quick read - because
this will make much more sense to you then...

Every so often - one of my newsletters will really get under
someones skin - and she'll be so eager to defend her way of
thinking and her way of living that she'll email me in a fit of
rage...

Here's an email that came in because of the newsletter I mention
above:

"Joey -

I usually just read these and take what I want and leave the rest.

However your email saying that women's bodies are "much more
delicate and sensitive" is a bunch of BS.

I have lifted heavy for the last two years and am very proud of the
muscle and definition that I have achieved. To have a person tell
me that just because I am a woman and my body is more delicate and
sensitive is not only demeaning but I invite you to join the 21st
century!

If I have aches and pains its because I was not in shape
or because of previous sports injuries, not because I have a
sensitive body because I am a woman. By the way I am 52 years old
and look better than I did when I was 22!

Please remove me from your email list as I can no longer think that
you have any thing I can learn because you are obviously back in
the 19th century with your thinking.

===> Now, there are lots of things I can say about Mary's email and
her attitude - but I'm not like that. What I do want to you to
understand is this...

'Lifting Heavy' - is not something we are supposed to do
consistently (man OR woman) - Look, if you want to lift weights and
do the machines - go ahead. But I will warn you in a helpful and
caring way - eventually, the 'heavy lifting' takes it's toll - IT'S
INEVITABLE... if not sooner - then later FOR SURE...

For some reason - most people are under the impression that you can
only 'build muscle' by lifting heavy... (I understand - most women
don't want to build too much muscle - that's why my programs are
designed for the typical women)...

But - a woman or a man can build lean, toned, non-bulky muscle
WITHOUT lifting heavy - there's more than one way 'to skin a cat'...

The ironic thing here, Loseweight - is Mary's way of thinking
is actually very 'old-school' and needs to be pulled into the
present. So often - people put a blind faith in a source of
information - just because it 'sounds good' or whatever...

But - how many times has something sounded good and even logical -
only to end up backfiring in the end?

Forget the 19th Century - forget the Future - join me in the 'here
and now' - because that's all we ever have - and boy, what a gift
the 'here and now' is.
