Boost Your Energy Naturally with this....

Have you felt your baby move yet? In my survey of over 500 moms, the majority said feeling their baby move was the BEST experience of pregnancy!

Speaking of you and your baby - are you giving her all the nutrition that she needs?

Your breakfast, or the "Breaking of your Fast" from the night before is the most important thing you can do to BOOST your energy. 

By eating a good quality breakfast, you can avoid a mid-morning energy low, which leads to overeating and poor food choices. And overeating or poor food choices - well, you know where it goes from there – weight gain! 

A “healthy” breakfast contains a good balance of complex carbohydrates, fiber
(oats, whole grain cereal), protein (yogurt, cheese, eggs), and of course, fresh fruit or vegetables (for those of you who like a more Mediterranean-style breakfast!).


Aim for GOOD QUALITY FOOD sources that are high in VITAMIN B and FIBER such as whole grains, multigrain bread, and oatmeal.

Also aim for foods with good sources of IRON (raisins and apricots) and CALCIUM (yogurt, milk, cheese, cottage cheese, and almonds).

I am always in such a hurry in the mornings and usually grab a Slim-Fast (already made) shake for breakfast. Do you think it would be okay to continue drinking the Slim-Fast? I have been eating smaller meals about every two to three hours each day and drinking TONS of water.

MY OPINION:

Lisa, you've definitely got the right idea - eating smaller, more frequent meals and drinking TONS of water are both excellent “habits” to have adopted now that you're pregnant! On the Slim-Fast shake, though, I would opt for a healthier choice.

Because your baby is 100% dependent on what you're feeding him/her - now is the time to turn over a new leaf. Some healthier (but still quick!) alternatives that I can recommend are: oatmeal, yogurt and fresh fruit or muesli with milk (or soya milk).

To the best of your ability DO take time to eat well in the morning even though you're rushed - you owe it to yourself and your baby.
