A Merry Life |
Posted: 30 Aug 2012 04:55 PM PDT After spending my morning writing and working I’m off somewhere walking in Auckland. In a few hours more I’ll be on my way to Wellington! It’s an 8 hour drive after a full day of work but I’m oddly looking forward to it. I love driving and love roadtrips with Kepa. We have tons of fun every time so this should be an awesome 8 hours of tired and delirious giggles. I’ve seen the top of the North Island and now I shall see the bottom of the North Island. Maybe next month I’ll finally make it to the South Island as well! My biggest concern about this trip is the food I’m going to consume. Obviously I know based on last week I need to limit the sodium intake and not go crazy. Today before we head out I’m trying to plan ahead and pre select some healthy choices. Here’s what I’ve got so far.
Now that I’ve thought those things through and typed them out I feel much more prepared to make this a fun AND healthy trip! Since we will also be walking around quite a bit to explore the city I expect next week will actually be a good one for weight loss. Really it’s all about trying to find the balance between enjoying a new city I might not visit again and still keeping my focus on weight loss. Fingers crossed I find that balance! All that said, I can’t wait for Wellington! Here are the things I’m excited about:
There are a bunch of other cool things that I’d like to do but since we aren’t there for very long activities will be limited. Weight Loss Restart, Week 3 Blahs Posted: 29 Aug 2012 08:45 PM PDT I feel super busy today with the real job (what is blogging not my job?). So I’ll keep it short and sweet here. Weigh in time! Yeah, don’t get too excited… it wasn’t my best week. Cute clips of JuJu at the end of the video btw… I think I’m going to do that every week since they are much more fun than me going on about my weight and week, which is boring. Recap if you didn’t watch: This week I’ve spent several days working off the water retention weight gain from the weekend. I know my mama takes pills because of water retention, maybe I need some of those! JK, I just need less sodium packed Chinese food. ;) HW: 255 Inching my way down. Kepa and I are headed away for the weekend so I can see new parts of New Zealand and meet more of his family. I’ve already scoped out some healthy restaurant options (yay local, organic, healthy food!) and I’m planning on walking a lot in Wellington so this weekend will be great.
