Running Group, Session One

Ready to run without even brushing my hair!

I am so thrilled I joined my new running group!

I typically run alone, and I rely on myself to set my goals and distance.

I have always been able to push myself, and I have learned how to increase my daily and weekly mileage and run faster.

Lately, I have been dying to run with some other people, so I was thrilled to hear about a new running group at my gym. Over the next few weeks, I’m hoping to get some fresh ideas and advice.

This morning we met our trainer (and marathon runner) at 9:00 a.m. then left the gym to run roads, hills and the track.

Sweating Pink after my run!

We ran for about 40 minutes then we stopped and stretched for a few minutes. After our stretching came sprints. Oh God, how they hurt!

I have never been a fast runner, but maybe sprinting will help my speed.

After our exhausting sprints, we ran back to the gym which took about another 15 minutes. All together we ran 6.48 miles!

The members of the group were extremely enthusiastic! They were very encouraging and a lot of fun to run with!

I can’t wait for next week, which is going to focus on intense hill training! I can’t wait!

P.S. Like my shirt? It’s from Fit Approach.

Their mission is, that, “real women sweat, and sweat hard.” And they believe that, “assertiveness, strength, and ambition are the ultimate feminine qualities.”

Well, I’m hooked on Fit Approach!

Today: 6.48 miles.
Weekly: 14.27 miles.
