Hi sweet and succulent Weight Loss,
9 years ago, when I was recently married to my
first husband, he suggested that as part of our
adventurous cross-country honeymoon, we go
to an art festival called Burning Man in the
desert in Nevada.
I tried to talk him out of it.
It would be more effective for my goals, for our
goals, to attend a personal-growth or business
seminar instead, I reasoned. Although going to
a festival sounded fun, I was doubtful it would
*achieve* anything purposeful in my life.
In retrospect, it's eye-opening to contemplate
just how wrong I was wrong...
As the story has it, my ex was a very persuasive
man, and I eventually agreed to go... and thank
goodness I did.
To my great surprise, Burning Man has ended
up being one of the MOST important schools
of my life.
It literally restored my faith in humanity, and
connected me with parts of myself so buried,
I didn't even know they existed.
It brought a previously unknown level of joy,
freedom, expression, and most important of
all, community into my life.
I've since returned, year after year, to that
sacred place. I met my best friend there. I met
my husband there. And one thing is guaranteed,
I always encounter magic there.
When you get this email, I will be there.
In this week's blog post, called Burning
Yourself Alive, I'm transporting you there too.

adventure of a lifetime and leave me a
comment with your thoughts and impressions.
With love from the desert,
Jena
P.S. The lessons I learned at Burning Man, not
only can be applied to losing weight, they
helped me craft my signature pleasurable
weight loss approach.
For example, one of the most striking things I
learned from camping in the desert, is that you
can't do it alone. To survive in a desert you
MUST come together and co-operate as a tribe.
The same goes for weight loss.
Do it alone, and you'll feel parched and
exhausted.
Do it with the support of a tribe, and you'll be
nourished and supported.
Weight Loss, what can I say? I'm just so happy
you're part of this tribe.
