I liked the way I ate on my trip: I didn't have to plan anything, I didn't have a fridge, so I would go buy something when I was hungry. Sometimes it was mangos on the street with a little salt on them, sometimes it was a turkey sandwich and sometimes it was a the traditional gallo pinto con pico de gallo. Thing is, in Central America, it was cheap (but like really cheap) and here, not so much. To be able to eat healthy, drop a couple pounds and not ruin my budget, I need to plan my meals. So, I planned, relentlessly, because my food bills were getting higher and higher and I am on a budget!
