100 Degree Run

Posted: 08 Jul 2012 12:04 PM PDT

My ankle has been feeling better, and today I knew I had a decent run in me so I got dressed and ready to go! The only problem was that I failed to realize it was a sweltering 100 degrees outside!

Damn that central air conditioning for throwing me off.

Looking lovely after the first half of my run!

Although the run was hot, the air wasn’t heavy, so it wasn’t as miserable as I first thought. I ran (never walking) 3.2 miles to the gym in about 26 minutes. Not too bad!

After I finished sweating uncontrollably, I stretched, lifted some weights and focused on my abs, which are in desperate need of attention.

I spent about 40 minutes at the gym, then I got ready to make the 3.2 mile run/walk home. Yes, I did wimp out, and I walked for about a quarter mile. Besides my brief walk, during the rest of the run I stayed at a nice pace. Even though I was tired I got home in 26:30.

I haven’t run like that in a long time. I can’t even explain how gratifying it is to have the freedom to run outside again!

Now I going to go for a little swim in the pool! I know my life is hard!

Today: 6.20 miles.
Weekly: 6.20 miles.
Yearly: 362.35 miles.

Simple Summer Days

The sun was too bright to see anything!

Today was truly a perfect example of the quintessential New England summer day.

The sun was out, the weather was ideal and the beaches were ready!

It’s days like these that make me thankful for days off and working only one job so I can enjoy every moment.

Things are changing in a positively perfect way, and I like the way everything is going!

How do you spend your summer days and nights?

What is your favorite thing to do during a day off in the summer?
