How to make friends when your body is your enemy

Hi Weight Loss,

There's one specific, basic, and to me *crazy* belief, that
separates my feminine approach to slimming down, from
diet-industry's methodology which is the following:

The belief that your body is something you have to painfully
work to *control* to get what you want.

This belief is so thick in the air we breathe as women in the
modern-day, diet-dominated world, we for the most part
no longer even think to question it.

This must be addressed and it is in this week's blog.

It's become a taken-for-granted, cultural assumption that
losing weight has to be painfully difficult, hard work and
requires using your mental power, to overcome and resist
the untrustworthy urges of your body.

The problem is, this is like telling a man complaining that
he's not happy with his marriage, that the answer is to
learn to better control his wife.

Is *controlling* her really the secret to a happy marriage?

I don't think so. A recipe for a miserable, abusive marriage
more like it.

As with marriage, so with weight loss, trying to *control
your body* as your principle weight loss strategy is bound
to fail.

What does work then, you're wondering, darling Weight Loss?

It all begins with befriending your body and this week's blog
breaks it down for you with 3 steps to get started healing
the most important relationship of your life, the one with
what I call your "female animal."

In response, I want to hear the following from YOU in the
comments:

        1. Do you feel at odds with your body?
        2. Which benefit of befriending your body I've described
            did you find most surprising?
        3. Which of these steps to befriend your body will you
            commit to implementing?

Love,
xo Jena

P.S. I'm also rooting for you to take my 3-minute survey!

It's a 19-question inventory that will pinpoint your most
powerful conscious (and unconscious!) thoughts about
pleasure, your body, sex, exercise and food.

Those who have already taken the survey say it's "easy, brief
and surprising." One lovely Pleasurista commented that she's
even learned something entirely unexpected about herself
– something that was affecting her every move (especially
in the kitchen
)!

Go ahead, dip your fork into this easy survey. As an added
treat, I'm giving you (and every other participant) a FREE
conference call
, where I will be your own, personal coach
on any topic that tickles your pickles.

Whether it's food-eating, habit-shifting or exercise-loving
that's driving you bananas, you will be able to let it out of
the bag, in this conference freebie.
I can't wait to hear your
voice!
