Do you read food labels before you purchase food items?
 
If you're answer is no...then you may be OK afterall.
 
Packaged foods contain countless ingredients that you may not be aware of, but that can pack a ton of calories.  They are also tricky about portion sizes...think one can of coke is one serving? Check again, most often there are 2-4 servings per package of food or drink!

As I'm sure you've already experienced for yourself, previously pregnant women LOVE to talk about their experiences – especially how our bodies have NEVER been the same since their delivery.

My best advice to you is...Do NOT listen!!

I know that for many women, post-partum weight loss is not easy. But it absolutely IS possible to look great again!

There are 2 critical things that you need to know. The first is WHEN you can start with your exercise AFTER delivery. The second, HOW to do it. 

Because your body has been stretched and contorted during pregnancy, you MUST repair all of the muscles before you do anything.  If you do not focus on repairing the body from pregnancy and birth, you may end up with things like a permanent belly pooch (big belly).

If you’re wondering where to get started with being proactive with your body, here’s my favorite butt exerciseThe Glut Bridge. This is an exercise that you can start doing just 2 weeks after delivery:

Lie on your back, bend your knees and place your feet flat on the floor. Slowly pull in your abs and lift your bum up off the ground as high as it will go (squeezing your bum cheeks together as if you’re pinching a quarter).

At the top do a KEGEL and hold for a count of 5. Aim to do this 12 times in a row a couple times a week until you feel ready for more. Then refer to my book for other easy, but effective exercises and their progressions.

(Note:If you’ve had a c-section, make sure to get your health care provider’s OK before doing this or any exercises.)
