I want to talk to you today about childhood obesity.
Childhood obesity is quickly turning into an epidemic, not only in North America, but worldwide. It is vital to understand the reasons behind childhood obesity in order to prevent it and bring an end to childhood obesity for the long-term.
So, why are so many children overweight and obese? Unfortunately many children and young teen`s diets consist mainly of high fat, high sugar foods that have almost zero nutritional value. Children are eating more and more fast-food and are indulging in endless snacks including chips, soda pop, cookies and candy.
Teaching our children healthy eating habits and the importance of nutrition is vital in having a healthier community overall.
